Rue lala Lilly

This post is way overdue..but here it is!

From the Rue lala sale I got:

The Shauna Dress in Big Bang - I was looking for this everywhere last Fall and am so glad to have finally found it...and at such a great price!  I am actually wearing it today with my black patent leather McKims.  I love the pops of color against the black background.

I also got the Caroline Baby Cable Cardigan in Jewel Green.  I love the color and Lilly Cardigans are a staple in my wardrobe because of our freezing office temperatures!

I also did a little damage at the Lilly Pulitzer Endless Summer Sale yesterday and will do a full recap of that once I get confirmation of all my orders.  Sadly I've already gotten one of the dreaded "Order Cancelled" emails from LP.com and a call from one of the VIA shops I made a purchase from.  Fingers crossed the rest of the items will process without any problems!!!

Rue lala Love...

A little package from the 'Man in Brown' (UPS) just arrived on my desk!  What a sweet way to start the day!  I didn't find much in Rue lala's Lilly Pulitzer boutique last week...but of course I had to have something!  I share what's inside later!  :)

Lilly Sale Anticipation Overload

As if the Lilly Pulitzer Online Summer Sale* wasn't enough, Rue La La will be featuring a Lilly Pulitzer sale this Friday, August 12th starting at 11:00 am.  If you need an invitation to Rue La La, leave a comment below with your email address and I will happily send you one.

*Lilly announced there will be an online summer sale August 23rd- 25th!  Last year this online sale was a bit of a nightmare because their server wasn't prepared for the madness the ensued...so hopefully they have it fixed for this year so we can be happy shoppers!  :)  Last year there was also a link for Lilly Pulitzer facebook fans to enter the sale early, so be sure to "Like" Lilly on facebook.  Last year they also offered a GWP (Gift With Purchase) for orders over $250 (I think) which was a pair of Spaghetti Strap McKims.  I can't wait to see what they have in store for us this year!!!

Happy Shopping Fellow Lilly Lovers!!!

Yumm-O!

So last night after running a few errands I stopped by McDonald's because I've been wanting to try their new "Mango Pineapple 'Real Fruit' Smoothie."
It was definitely good!   Would a Rolo McFlurry have been better?  Yes...but I'm a lover of all things ice cream, chocolate and caramel (Note to Self: Also review Wendy's Caramel Frosty...No, I'm not a 675 lb. fast food addict, but I do love me some ice cream treats!).  Anyway......back to the smoothie...

This little smoothie definitely has a strong mango flavor.  If you like mango, I do, you will enjoy this.  The pineapple flavor was lacking, but it was still very good and a great refreshing treat for a hot night!  According to that crazy clown Ronnie McD, this puppy is packed with 220 calories (size small).  Rolo McFlurry...you have a whopping 700 calories!!!  For shame!!!

Addicted

Time for a confession y'all.  I'm addicted...

to OPI's Axxium Gel [insert choir of singing angels].

It started off with a Shellac manicure, you may remember that from here.  It lasted two weeks and I was impressed.  Then I found a "Groupon" for the OPI Axxium at Nail P'Zazz here on Hilton Head.  It was such a great deal that I decided to give it a try.  And now...I can't quit!  This stuff is seriously tough!  My regular schedule is every two weeks just because my nails grow out so quickly, but I have had the OPI Axxium last for an entire three weeks without a single chip, flake or break!  It is amazing!

I generally get "Strawberry Margarita" or a French Mani with "Princesses Rule" which is a sheer shimmery pink.  I'm really excited for Fall to get some of the darker colors like "Lincoln Park After Dark", "OPI Ink" and my all time Fall fave "You Don't Know Jacques."  Here is the French Mani I got last night (sorry for the crappy phone photo and my ugly brown laminate desk).

Have you tried the OPI Axxium Gel?  Do you love it as much as I do?  If you haven't tried it yet, don't walk, RUN, to your nearest local salon and check it out!  If you're in the Hilton Head Island/Bluffton Area, call my girl Susan at Nail P'Zazz and let her hook you up!  Susan is awesome!

Weekend Re-Cap

Holy moly!  What a weekend!!!  This week my parents, aunt and uncle and another couple are all in town - it's a house full!!!

Friday night we took it easy awaiting everyones arrival and Mom and I self-medicated with a little wine.  I chose to drink mine with a straw straight out of the bottle.  :P  (Note to Self - get photo of Mom's phone...too funny not to share)

Saturday I hit the boat with my besties!  We went out to the sandbar but it was hot, hot, hot!  We decided it would be a better idea to take a lap around the Island to catch some breeze and do some swimming.  I am not a fan of swimming in the ocean or intercoastal...ya know...fish and sharks and all but it was just too hot not to get in the water to cool off.  I was doing just fine in the water until someone decided that I was a human fishing lure...  I had forgotten to take my jewelry off that morning and apparently from underwater it looked like a fishing lure.  This was just too perfect for my friends not to pick on me about..so I swam the rest of the afternoon with my arms up in the air not to attract fishies.

Saturday night after boating we all went to Remy's to hear White Liquor (a Rolling Stones cover band).  After Remy's we headed over to the Boardroom.  If you are on Hilton Head and looking for some great live music, head over to the Board Room.  They have a guy playing acoustic guitar and singing and let me tell you...he is faaabulous!!!  Must stalk said guitar player and find out who he is.

I hope y'all had a fun weekend too!!!  :)

Who Doesn't Love A Great Deal?!

So my bestie, "The Future Mrs. N" is getting married in October!  [Insert squeal of excitement here.]

We had been looking at dresses and thought we had decided on this little number from Rent the Runway. *  Isn't it cute?!  (Sorry for the blurry photos...RTR only had microscopic images for me to steal borrow.)

Well, TFMN decided after much thought and consideration and too many sleepless nights that this was in fact NOT the right dress for her maids to be wearing on her wedding day.  Girls, if you are in this same situation, go with your gut!!!  She did and I know she will not be disappointed.  So let me introduce you to our new lovely little number....drum roll please....

The Bow Monde Dress in Silk Taffeta from J. Crew.  Classic, Simple, Chic, Gorgeous!!!!!!!

Now on to the point of this post... "Who Doesn't Love A Great Deal?!"  This little number retails on jcrew.com for $250.00 but I scored it on ebay for only $65.00!!!!  Yes ladies, $65.00!  There are quite a few listed in the $140 range, but I saw this one in "completed listings" that hadn't sold.  Because it was such an incredible price, I emailed the seller and asked if she would be willing to re-list the dress.  Without hesitation, she responded and had the dress listed the same day!  What an incredible deal!!!!  I can't wait for it to arrive!  :)
*BTW - If you have not used RTR in the past, you must!!!  The service is fabulous and their customer service department is super friendly and helpful!  I'm not getting any kick-backs from them either, this is my own personal testimonial!

Anyway, you get the dress in two different sizes (for the same price) to make sure you have one that fits!  And!!!  Yes, there is more!!! (I feel like this is an infomercial...)  If you want to rent a second dress, you can get it for a hugely discounted price - again in two sizes!!!  The dresses are delivered to your door clean and pressed in their own little black garment bag.  When you are finished with the dress, you simply put it in the already addressed and posted mail bag, drop it in any blue USPS mailbox and that's it!  I swear it is so simple and wonderful!

Shhhh!  Don't tell RTR I told you this, but check around before you order because you can usually find discount codes!  :)

OK...so I fell off the bloggy train.  But I'm back and going to give it a go one more time!  Two of my favorite bloggers, Pink Lou Lou and A. Liz  had posts that inspired me to get back on and start posting!  So here goes nothing!  :)

A quick game of 'Catch-Up' since the last time I posted in March (gasp...March?!...Really?!  Ooops...).

I planned and helped to host a lovely Bridal Shower for my now Sister-In-Law, Laura, at Prince Street Cafe in Lancaster, PA.

My mom and I took a roadtrip to Orlando, FL to visit my cousin.  While we were there we got to see the last shuttle launch of the Atlantis; it was AMAZING!  And of course no trip to Orlando is complete without seeing Mickey!  We hit all four Disney parks in one day!
